Have you ever watched an on-stage production and wondered how the set came to be?

If yes, then did you ask yourself who inspired these designs?

The answer is probably renowned scenic designer, Boris Aronson

This site was created for Dr. Irma Mayorga’s THEA 17: Theater and Society III: 19th and 20th Century Performance. At the beginning of the assignment, each student was given a notable designer in 19th and 20th century theatre. Students then had to research and analyze the person and create a Digital Profile on their work.

I was given the pleasure of doing my project on the late scenic designer Boris Aronson. He is widely regarded as one of the pivotal innovators in set design for various Broadway and Yiddish productions in the 20th century.

When discussing scenic design for on-stage productions Boris Aronson is most likely a topic of conversation, whether you know it or not.
